Cosmetic makeup is performed by using a needling technique, with a machine, which implants pigment into the skin leaving your natural beauty enhanced by the procedure.

This treatment can benefit people who have lost their natural colour through ageing, or people who have naturally thin lips and people who have concerns about shape and symmetry.

Preparation

• Although numbing cream is used during the procedure, sensitivity or discomfort may still be felt. Skin may be red and/or swollen after the procedure.
• Please do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to the treatment.
• Please do not wax your brows at least 3 days before the procedure
• No electrolysis for at least 5 days before the procedure.
• Botox, AHA products and Retinoids should be avoided for 2 weeks prior to the procedure.
• Exfoliating treatments such as micro-dermabrasion should not be performed within 2 weeks prior to the procedure.
• Chemical and laser peels should be avoided no less than 6 weeks prior to procedure.
• People prone to cold sores/fever blisters should take an antiviral medication prior to treatment. (Only Lip Procedure)
• Hormone therapies can affect pigmentation and/or cause sensitivity.

Allergic Reaction

Allergic reaction can occur from any anaesthetic used during the procedure. However, a Patch test will be carried out before the procedure. If you do suffer from an allergic reaction from the procedure you should contact your doctor immediately. Allergic reaction response may show through redness, swelling, rash, blistering, dryness or any other symptoms associated with an allergic reaction.

Numbness

We cannot accept responsibility if the area to be treated does not respond to the numbing cream. Each individual is different according to skin type. Some clients report the area to be completely numb, while others may experience some discomfort.

Procedure

For certain cosmetic procedures, a numbing cream/gel can be used. The anaesthetic is placed over the treatment area for 20-30 minutes then carefully removed prior to treatment.

It is important that you do NOT SWEAT for at least 7-10 days. Sweat is salt and can prematurely fade the treated area.

• Directly after – some swelling, redness and in very rare cases bruising may occur for the first 24-48 hours. If this happens some ice on the treated area will help bring down the redness and any swelling.
• Do not rub or pick at the treated area, if the area becomes dry, allow it to flake off on its own. Use a thin layer of the Balm provided to ease the dryness or any itching. *Balm should only be used twice maximum in 24hrs*
• There should be absolutely no scrubbing, no cleansing creams or chemicals used around the area until fully healed.
• Do not expose treated area to full pressure of the water in the shower, if you do get the area wet lightly pat with a dry clean towel
• Do not soak the treated area in a bath, swimming pool, or hot tub. Do not swim in fresh, salt, or chlorinated pool water for 7 days.
• Do not expose the treated area to the sun, always wear minimum SPF 30 sun cream
• Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab, as this is excess pigment and/or body fluid that is naturally exiting your skin.
• At the first sign of an infection, adverse reaction, or allergic reaction to the procedure, please seek medical advice.

Failure to follow Aftercare Advice may cause loss of pigment, discoloration or infection.
