Frequently Asked Questions
Dermaplaning
What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a gentle form of manual exfoliation of the skin, we love this treatment and think it is the most effective exfoliating method. Dead skin cells are gently yet effectively removed from the face and neck which helps rid of impurities and debris layering on the skin clogging pores. Without the layer of dead skin cells getting in the way, it's easier for treatments and serums to penetrate your skin, this will help enhance the products you use post treatment.
What are the benefits of Dermaplaning?
Reducing the appearance of fine lines, evening skin tone and helping with the reduction of milia, blackheads, whiteheads and congestion associated with breakouts. A unique benefit of dermaplaning is the temporary removal of vellus hair, this is the tiny fine hair found on the face and neck. The hair will grow back exactly the same colour and thickness as it was previously - because you are removing the dead layer of skin and vellus hair, your skin will appear much brighter than you've experienced past. It is a Healthy way to exfoliate and cleanse skin with no downtime.
How is Dermaplaning performed?
Using a handheld dermatome and a surgical blade which gently scrapes over the skin, this treatment is completely painless and non-invasive.
I have acne, can I still get this treatment?
If you suffer from acne skin - dermaplane is not recommended as acne begins in the hair follicle and when the hair is removed it can aggravate or stimulate more acne breakouts. Please speak to us for other treatments that may help you.
Please note that this treatment does help with acne scarring.
Are there any side effects?
Immediately after the treatment the skin may seem red and flushed more than usual this is because the blood flow has been stimulated, this will usually subside after a few hours.

CryoPen Skin Therapy
Are there any side effects?
The area treated is frozen by Cryotherapy. This kills the localised cells in the area which causes them to shrivel and die. The treated area may go darker over a few weeks, but will return to normal pigmented skin in about 6 weeks.
How long are Cryotherapy treatments?
The duration of the treatment time will depend on the surface area and the thickness of the tissue being treated. Upon the clinical evaluation/consultation of the depth of the area, we will choose an application time from 1 to 30 seconds.
How safe is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy is a relatively low-risk procedure. It delivers a freeze directly to the area, and not the healthy surrounding tissue. The Cryotherapy device is both CE and FDA registered.
Is the treatment painful?
There will be a pain sensation similar to a stinging nettle on the skin when the Nitrous Oxide reaches the bottom of the area. There might be a little residual stinging for a few minutes after treatment, this is normal.

How does the Aqua cleanse work?
The treatment starts with an Adapted product cleanse massage, helping to drain toxins from the face. The face is then deep cleansed with water peeling sequential acids, using a vacuum handpiece, infusing the skin with mandelic acid. Mandelic acid is an anti-ageing ingredient, working to accelerate cell turnover by dissolving the tiny bonds that hold skin cells together, helping to remove dead skin on the surface that can lead to dull complexions.
Salicylic Acid is used in the same way, the aspirating handpiece will infuse the skin with Salicylic Acid, extracting oil, dead skin and dirt along the way. This is performed on the on the T-Zone , mainly concentrating on areas of concern. It penetrates deep in the pores and dissolves the bonds between surface skin cells. It’s this process that unclogs pores, helping in the fight against blemishes and breakouts. It can also help reduce sebum secretion by cleaning stubborn oil & dirt deep from within the pore.
The 3rd infusion is Hyaluronic Acid , the key ingredient to aid the skin in hydration. This is done using the infusion handpiece, HA is infused into the skin, creating a plumping effect. This helps reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles. Once the skin is hydrated , natural cell turnover can take place, leading to smoother , plumper skin cells.
Tissue Toning, Restructuring and Oxygenation
With the use of Mesoporic Handpiece the skin is infused with an Adapted Serum, specific to your skin type or condition. This can have a plumping effect, helping to tone and brighten the skin. An oxygen Mask is then applied to the skin, feeding the skin with thousands of ting oxygen bubbles.

What does the blue light do?
The blue LED light reduces activity in the sebaceous glands, which are small oil-producing glands in the skin. This causes the glands to produce less oil, improving acne symptoms.
Blue light also kills a type of bacteria that contributes to acne by causing inflammation.
What does the red light do?
The red LED light improves scarring and signs of aging, such as wrinkles and finer lines. It may do this by acting on fibroblasts, which are skin cells that are responsible for collagenproduction.
Collagen is a protein in the skin that plays a role in skin healing. The body produces less collagen as a person ages, which causes the skin to show signs of aging.
Brow Treatments
How long does a Microblading treatment take?
The Microblading treatment itself takes 2 hours, however the process usually takes 6-8 weeks. This is because it consists of two appointments, your first initial treatment and your touch up 4-6 weeks after.
How long will my new eyebrows last?
The pigment used in Microblading is semi-permanent and can last between 1-3 years. The pigment will begin to fade within 12 months. In order to keep your brows looking fresh, a touch up is recommended every 12 months to 24 months’ maximum.
Does the application hurt and does it hurt afterwards?
Some clients find the procedure a little uncomfortable while others report no discomfort at all, to ensure you are comfortable we can use a numbing cream prior to the procedure. The area can be a little sore for the first few hours and tender to touch for a couple days.
How long is the recovery or healing time?
Your brows should heal immediately after your Microblading procedure, over the next few days’ scabs will begin to form, this may make your brows appear darker than they are, however this is not an accurate indication of the finished look, your brow colour will fade 30-50% as the scabs heal and fall off within the 7 to 10-day timeframe. Do not pick your scabs, the pigment is within the scab and by picking it you will prematurely remove the pigment.
Can I have my brows Microbladed if I’m pregnant?
No you cannot have this treatment done if you are pregnant in case of infection.
Can you Microblade over an existing brow tattoo?
Microblading can be done over an existing brow tattoo, however the old tattoo must be significantly faded for the hair strokes to show through and look natural. Please advise if you have an existing tattoo.
