How does a Chemical Skin Peel work?
Pre Care
- Prep with One Step Prep Solution to de-grease and clear the skin of any oils and sebum build up within the pores.
- Application of specific skin peels to the face & neck, mapping can be done with these peels to target certain areas directly.
- Neutralise with Neutralising Solution
- Seal and protect with toner, serum, moisturiser and SPF
Pre Care
Preparation
Double cleanse of the skin.
Snow cleanser to remove makeup & products on the skin.
Targeted cleanser with hot mitts to deeply cleanse the skin for preparation to begin treatment.
Pre care
- Avoid use of AHA/BHA 48 hours prior to treatment.
- Avoid use of perfumes, products with chemicals, parabens to the area prior to treatment.
- Avoid steam/sauna/gym or any activity which will cause sweating 24 hours prior to treatment.
- Avoid use of retinol, at home skin peels & steroid creams in the area of treatment 7-10 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid direct sun exposure at least 5-7 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid exfoliating the skin 2-4 days prior to treatment.
- Aim to drink minimum 2 litres of water daily to flush out body toxins and remain hydrated.
- Protect skin daily with SPF 30+
- If you have any questions or concerns regarding the treatment please ensure to contact us
- Avoid touching the skin for 12 hours post treatment.
- Avoid steam/sauna/swimming/gym/hot showers or any activities to encourage sweating for 24 hours post treatment.
- Avoid use of products with perfumes, parabens and harsh chemicals on the area treated.
- Avoid use of AHA/BHA 48 hours post treatment.
- Avoid use of retinol, at home skin peels & steroid creams in the area of treatment 7-10 days prior to treatment.
- Treat skin daily with the recommended products given in your aftercare
- Avoid exfoliating for 7-10 days post treatment. (unless given other advice by practitioner)
- For maximum efficacy treatment should be followed up as recommended by practitioner
- Aim to drink minimum 2 litres of water daily to flush out body toxins and remain hydrated
- Protect skin with SPF 30+ daily.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 5-7 days post treatment.

What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a gentle form of manual exfoliation of the skin, we love this treatment and think it is the most effective exfoliating method. Dead skin cells are gently yet effectively removed from the face and neck which helps rid of impurities and debris layering on the skin clogging pores. Without the layer of dead skin cells getting in the way, it's easier for treatments and serums to penetrate your skin, this will help enhance the products you use post treatment.
What are the benefits of Dermaplaning?
Reducing the appearance of fine lines, evening skin tone and helping with the reduction of milia, blackheads, whiteheads and congestion associated with breakouts. A unique benefit of dermaplaning is the temporary removal of vellus hair, this is the tiny fine hair found on the face and neck. The hair will grow back exactly the same colour and thickness as it was previously - because you are removing the dead layer of skin and vellus hair, your skin will appear much brighter than you've experienced past. It is a Healthy way to exfoliate and cleanse skin with no downtime.
How is Dermaplaning performed?
Using a handheld dermatome and a surgical blade which gently scrapes over the skin, this treatment is completely painless and non-invasive.
I have acne, can I still get this treatment?
If you suffer from acne skin - dermaplane is not recommended as acne begins in the hair follicle and when the hair is removed it can aggravate or stimulate more acne breakouts. Please speak to us for other treatments that may help you.
Please note that this treatment does help with acne scarring.
Are there any side effects?
Immediately after the treatment the skin may seem red and flushed more than usual this is because the blood flow has been stimulated, this will usually subside after a few hours.
